Actress/Creator/Writer

Hiya!

My name is Khamaïlei Angélil. I am a proud New Yorker from Queens and a multi-ethnic actress of Caribbean, Jewish, and Southern decent. I act, create, and write because I love storytelling. I grew up with my nose buried in books, and from a young age I knew that I wanted to help bring those stories to life.

I have a B.A. in Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College and an Associate's Degree from Bard College. I also recently graduated from the Two Year training program at the William Esper Studio here in NYC.

I've had the joy of being a part of regional theatre, TV, short films, Off-Off Broadway shows, and interactive/devised theatre, and I am always trying to learn more about my craft.

When those opportunities aren't keeping me busy I create my own. I am currently starring in the Under-5 Project, am in post-production for the podcast Imagining the Future, which I record with my family, and am writing a one-act for an upcoming festival.

Other fun things you should know about me:
1. The question every wants the answer to: how is my name pronounced?
"KAMA-ih-lay ANJ-e-leel" <3
2. I wear my hair a lot of differnt ways (braids, twists, afros, but rarely straight) and am constantly changing the color, but lately I've been making an effort to keep it the same as in my headshots :)

3. I'm a ComicCon nerd and anime lover, can sing in Japanese (though am not fluent), and am a vegan/gluten free chef-in-the-making.
